Midgar Haven is situated deep within a vast desert. The central building, which houses the Gate, lies on an oasis. The ancient buildings and the streets are made of sandstone. The Gate itself is made from a strange metal frame and stone; it is comprised of a pedestal, stairs, a circle, which is where the portal appears, and a small control device.
The new buildings are made of steel and brick. This creates a strange mix with the sandstone. The building housing the Gate is made of marble and limestone, and of a design like that of Roman buildings.
The plant life is limited, being in a desert. Aside from the expected variety of cacti-type plants the oasis yields a number of flowering plants, as well as grass and palm-like trees.
